Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress, who has worked in television and film, is best known for films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16, she had already been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in the movie Downfall Youth With No Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. It won an Oscar and was praised by critics. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning female diva. Alexandra has worked on several notable projects, in both the US and abroad. For instance, the British biographical documentary Control the Greek-language Drama The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon are among these. The actress was also a member of the jury for the Transylvania International Film Festival, and was also a juror at Cannes Film Festival.
