She chose the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her late father. Bea also wrote a 2017 article in The Guardian on her family's suicide story. Bea's mom Helen She is a jockey-trainer and former pro jockey, was the one responsible for raising her and Sinead. Her parents were obsessed by horses and racing. Bea had a job as an instructor for the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue a racing career. Instead, she was drawn to the performance arts.
